Obituary

Cheryl Lynn (McFall) Vukelic, 67, of Toronto, Ohio, entered Heaven on April 3, 2024, at UPMC after a courageous battle with lymphoma and its many complications, surrounded by her loving family.

Cheryl was born on September 13, 1956, in Steubenville, Ohio, daughter of the late Donald and Shirley Hughes McFall.

She graduated as Valedictorian of Toronto High School class of 1974 and went on to earn her BS in Accounting and MBA from the Franciscan University. She served as Treasurer for Toronto City Schools from 1982 until 2013. She served on the Toronto Board of Education and was instrumental in obtaining the funds to build the Toronto Jr/Sr High School. Cheryl worked for Steubenville City Schools from 2015-2016.

More than anything else she was a dedicated Christian mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was most happy spending time with her family. She always showed up to cheer on and support the kids.

She leaves behind her husband, Steve, daughter Dr. Valarie Vukelic of Gibsonia, PA, and son Vance Vukelic of Pittsburgh, PA; her sisters Patty (Pat) Lamantia, Diane Sokol, and Dr. Linda McFall, also her brother Don (Joan) McFall and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was a member of St. Francis Church where she served as lector and sang in the choir. Her other volunteer activities included helping with Vacation Bible School, nutroll baking, and funeral dinners. Additionally, she volunteered at Crossroads Church, Comfort Bears, and Presbyterian Church Chi Rho program. She also had a card ministry and was the first to send Christmas, Birthday, and Get Well wishes.

Please join us in a celebration of her life. She walked with God. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 5 from 3 PM to 7 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will follow on Saturday, April 6 at 10:30 AM at the St. Francis Church in Toronto.
