Christine (Carpenter) Gibbs, 64, of Steubenville, OH, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved friend passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

She was born October 8, 1960, daughter of the late Russell T. "Russ" and Arlene (Craven) Carpenter. Christine was also preceded in death by four brothers, Bruce, Scott, Mike and Floyd, and two sisters, Oretha Huffine and Linda Carpenter.

Christine is survived by husband, Bert Gibbs. She was the proud mother of Rachel (George Morates) Hendrickson and Della Thompson, and lovingly accepted Bert's three children as her own, Macy (Tyler) Wilson, Tiffani (Collin) McCoy, and Casandra (Justin) Sabo. She adored her seven grandchildren, Danielle, Floyd, Clyde, Sarah, Mayson, Kai and Cambria, and five great-grandchildren, Aubree, Jah'ty, Donavon, Jah'meer and Levi, who brought her immense pride and joy.

She also leaves behind two brothers, Clarence (Donna) Carpenter and David Carpenter, one sister, Winifred Carpenter, and sister-in-law, Barbara Sandheinrich. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews, who were touched by her kindness and affection.

Christine's life was filled with love, laughter, and her free spirit touched everyone she met. Her family was the highlight of her life. As a mother and grandmother, she was known for her nurturing heart, wisdom, and ability to make everyone feel special. She loved to go fishing, dancing, listening to music and she was an excellent cook.

Everyone is invited to say goodbye and celebrate her life on Monday, Feb. 10 from 12 noon to 2 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Following the visitation, she will be laid to rest in the Toronto Union Cemetery. www.jefosterfh.com
