Christy Lynn Straka, 62, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in the Trinity West Medical Center in Steubenville, OH.

Christy was born August 9, 1961, in Steubenville, daughter of the late Charles L. Straka, Sr. and Alicia (Achhammer) Straka Myers, who survives.

In addition to her mother, Alicia, of Palm City, FL, Christy leaves behind her daughter, Cayla and husband Jeff Mettenberger of Richmond, OH, and son, C. Chape and wife Christa Ovalle of Delaware, OH, her granddaughter, Caroline Ovalle; brother, Charles Straka, Jr., of CA; sisters, Pam and husband Bill Parker of FL, Faith and husband Mark McCart of Toronto, Margy and husband Jose Avila of CA, and Lisa and husband Gary Waxler of E. Liverpool, OH.

Christy loved her daughter and son ('her kiddies'), Cayla and Chape, more than anything. She also looked forward to spending the winter months in Florida with her mother, Alicia, every year. She loved being outside and the sunshine. Her dogs, Reina and Marshall gave her much comfort. As a mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter, she will be in our hearts always.

In following Christys wishes, a private service will be held, and burial will take place at the convenience of her family.
