Clara G. Jean Sherrin, 82, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Saturday Jan. 16, 2016 in the Life Line Hospital in Wintersville, OH.

Jean was born Oct. 31, 1933 in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Harold Edward and Mary Kathryn (Ryan) Powell, Sr.

She was a retired co-owner of Sherrin & Assoc. Accounting Co. in Steubenville. In her earlier years, Jean worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell Telephone in Wheeling.

Jean was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Steubenville. She loved to travel and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Sherrin, who passed away on Nov. 7, 2010 and by her two brothers, John Samuel and Harold E. Ebb Powell.

Jean is survived by her children, son, Richard J. and his wife Sherry Sherrin of Wintersville and daughter, Patricia Tish Sherrin of New Mexico; her grandchildren, Richard Michael and his wife Elizabeth Sherrin of Wintersville, Shannon Marie Sherrin of Toronto, OH and Michael Joseph Sherrin of Wintersville; her brother, Charles and his wife Kay Powell of Woodsfield, OH and her brother-in-law, Thomas Patrick and his wife Irene Sherrin of Powell, OH.

A private family visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH.

A public Mass celebrating Jeans life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Steubenville. Msgr. Gerald Calovini will celebrate her Mass and entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville. There will be visitation at the church from 9 am til time of the Mass at 10am.

The family request memorial donations be directed to: Holy Family Catholic Church or to the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
