Clifford Grant Dawson, 77, of Toronto, passed away Thursday, June 7 at his home.Cliff was born July 30, 1929 in Salineville, OH, son of the late Taylor G. and Vida Gertrude (Robertson) Dawson.Cliff was a former employee of the Federal Paper Board Co. in Washington, PA and a retired employee of First Energy Corp. Sammis Plant in Stratton.Cliff was also a veteran of the US Army where he served his country in the Korean War and he was Methodist by faith.Cliff was preceded in death by six brothers: Lawrence, Charles, Russel, James, George and Lloyd Dawson.Cliff is survived by one daughter, Vicki (Joe) Chadwick of Toronto with whom he resided; three sons, Jim Dawson of Toronto, Randy and Gary Dawson both of Georgia ; one brother, Donnie Dawson of Michigan; four sisters, Kathy (Harry) Brockway of Mingo Jct., Linda Woodland of Zanesville, OH, Dorothy (Charles) Hayes of Lancaster, OH and Betty (Paul) Smith of Toronto.Cliff is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.Visitation for Cliff will be held on Sunday, June 10 from 12 - 2 and 6 - 8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto.Services for Cliff will be held on Monday, June 11 at 11am at the funeral home with Gordon Barrett officiating, an American Legion Post #86 Chaplain Service will follow.Memorial Donations may be made in memory of Cliff to the American Cancer Society, JeffersonCounty Unit, P.O.
