Col. Frank A. Titus, 76, of Columbus, OH, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, in the Ohio State University James Hospital in Columbus.

Frank was born June 28, 1946, in Gallipolis, OH, son of the late Frank E. and Vivian (Knopp) Titus.

After graduating from Pomeroy High School, Frank joined the United States Air Force in 1968 having spent 2 years of active duty during the Vietnam War. He later retired as Colonel with 35 years of service. His awards included the Air Force Commendation Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal.

Frank also received his Bachelor and Masters degree from The Ohio State University and his JD Law Degree from Capital University Law School. He worked as an Attorney for 30 years.

Some of Franks professional career highlights include appearing as an Expert Military Analyst on CNN International, teaching Humanitarian Law courses with the United Nations in NY, the Philippines, Japan, Romania, the UK, Germany, Panama, and Canada, winning the OSU Dept. of Public Safety Meritorious Service Medal in 1975 and the Ohio Distinguished Service Medal in 1999, and receiving the honor of 9 Bells upon boarding the Aircraft Carrier USS Kitty Hawk in Japan in June of 2003.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen E. Titus.

Frank leaves behind his wife, Dolores J. (Sipos) Titus whom he married in 1987; brother, Robert B. Titus of Pomeroy; sister-in-law, Helen Sipos of Dillonvale, OH; niece Catherine (Patrick) Thomas of Orange, CA, and a lifelong friend, Larry Marshall of Brighton, TN.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2 pm at the King Ave. United Methodist Church in Columbus. Burial will be a private affair for the family.
