Obituary

Cora A. Kubina, 89, of Toronto, Ohio passed away Thursday at Trinity Med. Center West. E.R.Cora was born on Oct. 26, 1920 in Steubenville, Ohio, daughter of the late Raymond and Phyllis Clancey Nelson. Cora was a Homemaker, a member of Holy Name Cathedral in Steubenville, the C.W.C. of the church, was a long time leader of the Brownie's and Girl Scouts Troops in Toronto, a former member of the Steubenville Civic Service League, a long time active member of the Democratic Party in Jefferson Co., where she served on the Executive Committee, the Democratic Women's Club and the State Democratic Women's Club, was a Precinct Committee Women and was a former President of the Steubenville Democratic Women's Club.In addition to her parents Cora was preceded in death by her husband Paul, who passed away in 2003, her daughter Marlene Brothers in May 2009, and her sister Katherine Orbovich. Surviving are her daughter Olivia "Rae" (John) Martin of Toronto, her Son-in-Law Ed Brothers of Follansbee, her Sister Dorothy McDonough of Steubenville, five Grandchildren, Peggy (Dana) Lohr of Wintersville, Cora (Vito) Suppa of Toronto, Dorothy Martin of N.C., Paul (Sherry) Brothers of Follansbee and Todd (Rebecca) Brothers of Charleston. Several nieces and nephews. 6 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Friends and family may call on Sunday 1-3 and 6-8 pm. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto, Ohio. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Monday Jan. 18th., at 10:00 am. at Holy Name Cathedral in Steubenville. (Family will gather at the Funeral Home on Monday at 9:00 am. prior to going to the church). Father R. Thomas Nau will be the Celebrant and burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
