Daniel W. Phillips, 68, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, in the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.
Dan was born December 18, 1957, in Canton, OH, son of the late George D. and Frances M. (Marcoldi) Phillips. Dan was also reunited in Heaven with his son, Ryan C. Phillips, who passed in 2020, and his brother-in-law, Mike Helon.
He retired after 43 years as a welder in the Maintenance Department at the TIMET Titanium Metals plant in Toronto.
Dan graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1976. He was a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes, and he enjoyed golfing and fishing, whether on his boat on the Ohio River or during his annual trip to Lake Chautauqua with his fishing buddies.
He leaves behind his wife, Cheryl A. (Heaton) Phillips, whom he married November 18, 2005; daughter Dana Troski, and grandchildren Quinn and Logan, all of Toronto; step-children, Shane Neely of Colorado and Cory Neely of Toronto; step-grandchildren, Annabel, Elise, Iliza and Marcus; sisters, Donna (Mike) Delfiandra of Michigan, and Kendra Helon (Matt Lovinski; three nieces and one nephew.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, May 26 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A Memorial Service for Dan led by his cousin, Mark Marcoldi, will follow at 7 PM.
