Obituary

David P. Angelo, 84, of Steubenville, OH, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.

David was born February 4, 1941, in Stowe Twp, PA, son of the late Silvie and Elizabeth (Dorsky) Angelo. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Justin Angelo.

After high school David joined the US Army and served for three years during the tail end of the Vietnam War.

In 1957, David and his wife Janet took over ownership of Kirk's Jewelers from his father Silvie. Together they ran the jewelry store in downtown Steubenville and eventually changed the name to D&J Pawn Shop until its closure in 2004.

David was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Steubenville. He loved to take his 1979 Camaro to the drag strip and race at Friendship Park; it was a family affair. He took great pride being outside and cutting endless amounts of firewood for his family. This, along with many other acts of kindness, demonstrated what a servant he was for everyone he knew and loved.

He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Janet F. (Needham) Angelo, whom he married on September 28, 1968; daughter, Jamie and husband Ron Wiley of Amsterdam, son Ryan Angelo of Steubenville, and two grandchildren, Jaxon and Giuliana Wiley.

In honoring his wishes, David will be cremated with no public services observed. He is in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH.
