David E. Knowles, 82, of River Falls, WI, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 in the River Falls Hospital in Wisconsin. Dave was born on August 4, 1929 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Emory E. and Olive Nelson Knowles. Dave was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Toronto, OH; he also was retired from the Weirton Steel Corp. where he worked in the Tin Mill.Dave was a Veteran of the US Army having served his country as a Sergeant in the Korean War.In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline M. (Clark) Knowles who passed away in 1986; his three brothers, Richard, Edwin and Emery; his two sisters, Dorothy Krawson and Marge Potter.Dave is survived by his daughter, Marcelle "Marcy" and her husband Richard of River Falls, WI; his son James Knowles of Philadelphia, PA; he also leaves behind his four grandchildren. Visitation for Dave will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 11-1pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH followed by his Funeral Service at 1pm. Rev. Kevin Rinkes will officiate his service and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery in Toronto, OH.
