David Lee McKim, 63, of Mt. Pleasant, OH, passed away Sat. Nov. 16, 2019 at his home.

Dave was born July 25, 1956 in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late David Thomas and June (Reed) McKim.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Oxford Mining Co.

Dave loved farming and coal mining. He cherished his time with his friends and helping everyone. Dave was a 1975 graduate of Buckeye North High School.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Surviving is his wife, Sheila R. (Kain) McKim, whom he married on Nov. 22, 2003; his son, Michael (Neiva) McKim of Kent, OH; his stepdaughter, Samantha Hughes and stepson, Dylan Hughes both of North Carolina; his sister, Sue (James) McKim Davis of Wintersville, OH; four grandchildren, Kayla, Sydney, Colton and Echo; his aunt, Mary McKim of Steubenville, OH; his uncle, Martin (June) McKim of Adena, OH, and several cousins.

Family and friends will be received Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019 from 11 am - 1 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. A Memorial Service celebrating Daves Life will follow at 1 pm with Kenny Kourim officiating.
