David L. Moore, 63, of Toronto, OH, passed away Friday March 16, 2012 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.Dave was born Dec. 22, 1948 in Charleston, WV, son of Ruth Woods Moore Ratliff of Nettie, WV, who survives and the late Dallas Jay Moore. Dave was retired from Nemo's Inc. where he worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 45 yrs. He was a former Police Officer for the Village of Cadiz and a former Deputy Sherriff for Harrison County. Dave was a 1967 graduate of Wintersville High School and was Methodist by faith. In addition to his father, Dave was preceded in death by a brother Donald Moore, his Paternal Grandparents Dallas and Estella Moore and by his niece Jackie Grimes. Surviving in addition to his Mother Ruth of Nettie, WV, is his wife Linda K. (Grimes) Moore, whom he married on Aug. 7, 1981; his children, Jessica Moore, Mallory (Jake) Blanton and Matthew Moore all of Toronto, OH and Stephanie (Mark) Brooks of Cadiz, OH; three grandchildren Lily Skye Thompson-Moore, Westley Moore and Lacie Woodland. Surviving also are six sisters, Mary (Alan) Bigler of Charles Town, WV, Candi (Mike) Murphy of Toronto, OH, Sharon (Roger) Wells of Steubenville, OH, Jennifer Castle of IN, Jay Katherine Giacobbi of Cadiz, OH and Judy (Delbert) O'Dell of Nettie, WV; six brothers, Sam (Peggy) Moore of TX, Bob Moore of NC, Jerry (Missy) Hendershott of Carrollton, OH, Joe Hendershott of TX, Clay Ratliff and Ronnie Ratliff both of Nettie, WV; his sister-in-law Patty Moore (Jay) Hutter of Wintersville, OH along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Dave will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Findley St. in Toronto. Dave's Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family at: 515 E. Fernwood Dr. Toronto, OH 43964, to assist with his medical bills.
