Dennis K. Smith, 72, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, December 06, 2012 in Life Line Hospital in Wintersville, OH. Dennis has joined his wife Carol who passed away on Monday December 3rd of this week; they are both together now in heaven with the Lord. Dennis was born on August 11, 1940 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Michael J. and Dorothy D. (Dyer) Smith.Dennis was a member of the River Christian Fellowship Church in Empire, OH and the Cadiz Country Club. He retired from the Weirton Steel Corp. where he worked as a Turn Foreman in the Strip Steel Dept. After retirement he worked for 15 years at the Homer Laughlin China Co. as a security guard.In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Carol E. (Libengood) Smith who passed away Monday, December 3, 2012. Dennis and Carol were wed on May 20, 1960.Dennis is survived by his two sons, Greg (Leslie) Smith of Jewett, OH and Jeff (Dianne) Smith of Toronto, OH; his three grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary and Kylie; his sister, Aimee (Jay) Swearingen of Toronto, OH; three brothers, Donald (Nancy) Smith of Wintersville, OH, Mike "Butch" Smith and Bernie Smith both of Toronto, OH.Visitation for Dennis will be held today, Friday, December 7 from 4-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 9 am until the time of his and Carol's funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Mike Ingole officiating.
