Obituary
Dixie L. Wiant, 86, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at her home.
She was born Nov. 20, 1929 in New Somerset, OH, daughter of the late Raymond and Edna Pearl (Wright) Lawrence.
Dixie was a 1947 graduate of Irondale High School, member of the Pleasant Hill Grange and Toronto Senior Citizens. She also was a 4-H Silver Spur Advisor and an author of Poetry having written three books.
In addition to her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Wiant, her step-father Ralph McConnell and her great-grandson Kaleb Gibbs.
Dixie leaves behind her three sons, Vern (Darlene) Wiant of Hammondsville, OH, Rick (Barb) Wiant and Marty (Althea) Wiant both of Toronto; her five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Dixie will be held on Friday from 4-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. There will be a graveside committal service held at the convenience of her family.
