Donald R. Brooks, 79 of Toronto, Ohio formerly of Stratton, passed away Tuesday Nov. 6, 2012 in Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh. Don was born Aug. 22, 1933 in Belliare, Ohio, son of the late Sam and Catherine E. Haught Brooks. Don was retired from the former Hancock Mfg. Co. in Toronto. He was a member of the Toronto American Legion, Toronto Eagles and the V.F.W. Don served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. Don was the 4th child born to Sam and Catherine E. Haught Brooks; he was proceeded in death by his sister Mary Alice Brooks Connors; a brother Sam 'Buddy' Brooks; a brother Arthur 'Tubby' Brooks; his brothers Jim and his wife Glenna and Kenny and his wife Sandy; a daughter Barbara; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.At Don's request he will be cremated and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
