Donald L. Gator Harris, 81, of Rayland, OH, passed away Friday May 26, 2017 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Don was born Aug. 28, 1935 in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late Warden W. and Rose Fernanda (Pontia) Harris.

He was retired from Labor Local #809 and also worked at 250 Auto Wrecking. Don enjoyed auto racing, fishing and working on small motors.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Cameron) Harris in 2007 and his sister, Dorothy.

Surviving is his son, Dan Harris of Rayland; his two daughters, Mary Sue (Bob) Mosser of Rayland and Cindy (Louie) Bird of New Hampshire; his two brothers, James (Ruth) Harris of Harrisville, OH and Rich (Ruth) Harris of Connorsville, OH; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday May 30 at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH for a memorial visitation from 5 - 7 pm followed by Dons Memorial Service at 7 pm. Pastor Roger Wayne will officiate and burial will be held at the convenience of Dons family.
