Donald Verhovec, Sr., 81, of Rayland, OH, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.

Don was born Nov. 4, 1938 in Plum Run, OH, son of the late Anthony Verhovec, Sr. and Marcella (Reinagle) Verhovec.

He was retired from the Gil Thermes Fence Co. in Wintersville, OH and he previously worked at Harmony Tool & Die in Mingo Jct., OH. Don was a little league baseball coach for 13 years. He loved to use his hammer and mow grass.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Julius, Eddie, Bill and Tony, Jr. and his sister, Veronica Skip Colabella.

Don leaves behind his wife, Barbara J. (Schrader) Verhovec whom he married Oct. 26, 1957; his three sons, Donald Verhovec, Jr. of Steubenville, Richard Verhovec of the home and Steve (Wendi) Verhovec of Dover, OH; his sister, Carolyn Verhovec of Rayland and his four grandchildren, Christen, Brandon, Kacee and Bryce.

Dons wishes were to be cremated with no services observed. His burial will be held at the convenience of his family. His arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Smithfield, OH. www.jefosterfh.com
