Doris J. (Maffett) Fagan, 89, of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.Doris was born on May 19, 1922 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late George C. and Hazel (Bryan) Maffett.Doris was a member of the North River Ave. Christian Church in Toronto, OH; she was retired from the Ohio Edison Co. where she worked as a Lab Technician. Doris was also a Veteran of the US Navy where she served as a Nurse in NY attending to Soldiers during WWII.In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Fagan, her son Fred Fagan, her daughter Kathy Laizure and two sisters, Mary Busick and Bessie Porter.Doris is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Mousourakis of Follansbee, WV, and Wendy (John) James of Phoenix, AZ; her sister Erla Allison of Toronto, OH, her sister Hilda Elliott of Ft. Myers, FL and her brother George (Joan) Maffett of Ft. Myers, FL. Doris also leaves behind her nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter on the way. Friends and family are welcome to attend a Memorial Service for Doris on Thursday, May 3 at 11am at the North River Ave. Christian Church, with Rev. Bob Hanze officiating. Memorial donations may be made in Doris' name to the Disabled American Veterans PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250.
