Doris Jean DJ (Kontra) Kujawa, 64, of Cadiz, OH, passed away Saturday Aug. 14, 2021, in the Harrison Community Hospital ER in Cadiz.

DJ was born March 2, 1957, in Martins Ferry, OH, daughter of the late Herbert Kontra and Myrtle (Whittaker) Kontra Polvika.

She retired from the Wheeling Island Casino as a dealer. DJ and her husband Leon were married in the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church April 17, 1999.

In addition to her parents, DJ was preceded in death by her daughter, Brook and sister, Carolyn Bonecutter.

Surviving is her husband, Leon M. Kujawa; stepdaughter, Kaitlin (David) Bennett of Hopedale, OH; stepson, Tyler Kujawa of Smithfield, OH; granddaughter Kensington Bennett of Hopedale; two sisters, Sandy Miller of Rayland, OH, and Jane Long of Bloomingdale, OH; brother, Ronald (Theresa) Kontra of Mingo Jct, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, from 12 noon to 4 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH. A funeral service for DJ will follow at 4 pm with Rev. Wilford Simeral. Burial will be held at the convenience of her family.
