Earla J. Belon Humes, 72, of Toronto, OH formerly of Smithfield, OH, passed away Thursday March 31, 2016 in the Cleveland Clinic.

Earla was born Sept. 3, 1943 in Wheeling, WV, daughter of the late Earl and Doris (Farmer) Williams.

She was a homemaker, a Methodist by faith and a former Village Council member in Smithfield.

In addition to her parents, Earla was preceded in death by her first husband, George Belon Sr.; two grandsons, Phillip Michael Kugler and John Michael Belon; three sisters, Marion Oder, Naomi Nelson and Doris Ritchie.

Earla served her country in the U.S. Army.

Surviving is her husband, Roy Humes of Follansbee, WV; her children, Dawn (Keith) Craven of Burlington, MI, Rae (Roger Ross) Belon of Waveland, MS, John (Beth) Belon of Martins Ferry, OH, Kevin Belon of Steubenville, OH, George Belon, Jr. of Clarksville, PA and Gary Belon of Toronto, OH; step-children, Toni Nemeth of Bowerston, OH, Mick Belon of Tiltonsville, OH, Jim (Mary) Belon of Glencoe, OH and Greg Belon of Dillonvale, OH; her brother, John (Nancy) Williams of Bethesda, OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Earla will be held on Tuesday April 5, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield.

Full Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Piney Fork, Smithfield and Hopedale American Legions.
