Obituary

Ed Hosey, 64, of Toronto, OH, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 in Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA surrounded by his loving family.Ed was born December 5, 1949 in Newell, West Virginia, son of the late Emma P. (Stevens) Hosey. He was a 1968 graduate of Toronto High School.He was retired from ArcelorMittal the former Weirton-Steel Corp. where he was a crane operator. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the National Rifle Association. He was also a decorated Veteran of the US Marine Corps having served his country in the Vietnam War being a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. Ed was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he loved the outdoors, whether it be in the woods hunting or spending days on the Ohio River. He also loved spending time with family and friends at his cabin in the country and helping anyone in need anyway that he could. Surviving is his wife, Darlene S. (Murvine) Hosey of home whom he married on Feb. 25, 1980; his son Brian (Nicole) Rawson and his daughter Dee (Brian) Taggart all of Toronto; his sister Oma Hosey, brother Merritt (Brenda) Hosey and sister Paulette Schroiff all of California and his sister Annie Ritchey of Idaho; an aunt Mary Bowen of CA and his in-laws, Donald (Barbara) Murvine of Irondale, OH; brother-in-law Donald Keith (Pam) Murvine of New Somerset, OH. Ed also leaves behind his six grandchildren, Madison Stoica, Blaine and Meghan Rawson, Sydney and Amelia Taggart and Jack Rawson. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, Dec. 26 from 2-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto, OH. There will be additional visitation on Friday from 11 am up til the time of his funeral service at 1 pm. Rev. Michael Bongart will officiate the service and his burial will be held at the convenience of his family at a later date. The Toronto American Legion Post # 86 will provided full military honors at the conclusion of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Ed's memory to the Toronto Alumni Association 102 N. 3rd St. Toronto, OH 43964 or Coats for Kids postmarked Toronto Kiwanis PO Box 279 Toronto, OH.
