Obituary

Elizabeth T. Brem, 83, of Toronto passed away Saturday, February, 3 at the Country Club Manor in Steubenville.Elizabeth was born November, 14, 1923 in Steubenville, daughter of the late Matthias and Mary (Toth) Racz. Elizabeth worked for a short time during WWII at the Curtis Wright Airplane Factory in Columbus, she worked at Union Bank in Toronto in the early 40's, and she also was a Civil Defense Warden during the 50's in the city of Toronto.Elizabeth was a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto.In addition to her parents Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Brem who passed away in 1996, two sisters, Margaret Wenner and Mary Fellows, four brothers, Frank, Matthew "Fred", Joseph and Michael.Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Gabriella who passed away in September of 2005.Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Janie (Jon) Carthay of New York, her son, Joseph (Michelene) Brem of Toronto, her sister, Catherine Carnahan of Stratton.She is also survived by two grandsons, Joseph M. and his fianc Laurie Fried of Cleveland, John A. (Cindy) of Toronto and two great-grandsons, John Patrick and Aidan Joseph both of Toronto.Friends and family may call on Monday, February 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto where a vigil service will be held at 7:30pm.There will be an additional hour of visitation Tuesday morning at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto from 9am up until the Mass at 10am with the Msgr. Kurt Kemo officiating.Burial will follow in the TorontoUnionCemetery.Tuesday will also be a celebration of Elizabeth's wedding anniversary where Joseph and she would have celebrated 66 years together on February 6.Memorial donations may be made to the St. Francis Central School, 1245 N.
