Elizabeth Ann Olesky, 92 of Steubenville, OH, formerly of Irondale, Wellsville and Toronto, OH, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday March 28, 2018.

Born on May 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Ann (Demko) Uhrinek. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Olesky, Sr. on Feb. 1, 2000, also her siblings, Helen Uhrinek, Mary Rovnack, Katie Voltz, Anna Karaffa, Susan Sudak and Joseph Uhrinek.

Upon graduating from Toronto High School, Liz worked at Hancock Mfg., the Midland Steel Mill and she retired from Titanium Metals of America after 20 years.

Liz attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toronto. She was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wellsville.

Liz enjoyed listening to her favorite polka tunes and going to area polka dances with her husband John. She and John both loved to bowl and were competitive in many leagues over the years.

Family was important to Liz and she loved to cook and bake for them. She looked forward to having the entire family together for holidays and Sunday dinners and often made her famous fried chicken that was so good it could rival the Colonels.

Liz is survived by her three sons, John L. Olesky, Jr. and wife Janet of Toronto, David R. Olesky and wife Sandra of Reston, VA, Timothy Olesky and wife Hilda of Queensbury, NY; five grandchildren, Brian (Michelle) Olesky of Wintersville, OH, Chad (Nicole) Olesky of Orlando, FL, Megan (Jesse) Wilburn of Reston, VA, Marc (Sheila) Olesky of Queensbury, NY, Ashley Olesky of Boynton Beach, FL; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Myers of Wintersville, OH, Wade Lewis of Zanesville, OH, Jackson, Abby and Anderson Wilburn of Reston, VA; her brother, Andy Uhrinek of Dunedin, FL.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 5 from 4-7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Her Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Toronto with additional viewing at the church from 9:30 am til 10:30 am. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will celebrate the Mass and burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Wellsville, OH.
