FUNERAL MASS FOR ELIZABETH HAS BEEN CANCELLED. The family will have a private burial service at their convenience. Elizabeth L. (Abramowicz) Sokol, 87, of Toronto, Ohio passed away Wednesday Feb. 3, 2010 at her home.Elizabeth was born Oct 28, 1922 in Steubenville, daughter of the late Joseph M. and Mary Surel Abramowicz. She was a home maker, was a member of St. Francis R.C. Church in Toronto, the C.W.C. of the church, she attended St. Stanislaus grade school and graduated from Wells High School in Steubenville. In addition to her parents Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Michael P. Sokol on June 15, 1998, her Granddaughter Jackie Grimes, and her sister Anna Stasiulewicz. Surviving are her children, Michael S.(Linda) Sokol, Joseph M. Sokol, Theresa R.(Frank) Popp, and Mary Elizabeth (Thomas) Grimes, all of Toronto, her sister Mary C. Orenchuk and her brother Stanley A. Abramowicz both of Steubenville. 9 Grandchildren, Carol-Lin Cunningham, Stephanie Sokol, Elizabeth (Richard) Donnelly, Michael Popp, Tom (Jody) Grimes, Jeremy Sokol, Justin (Holly) Sokol, Ashley (Chris) Jordan and Abby Sokol. 10 Great Grandchildren.Friends and family may call on Friday from 4-7 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto, Ohio. Elizabeth's Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be on Saturday at 10:00 am., at St. Francis R.C. Church on Findley St. in Toronto. (Everyone will meet at the Church on Saturday). Fr. Thomas Vennitti will be the Celebrant and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Vigil Service will be held Friday at 4pm.
