Elizabeth (Mitchell) Zappone, 89 of Steubenville, OH, formerly of Smithfield, OH, passed away Tuesday Sept. 2, 2014 at her home. Elizabeth was born Nov. 1, 1924 in New Kensington, PA, daughter of the late Nicholas G. and Ernesta E. Sebenello Mitchell. Elizabeth was a homemaker and a talented artist. She was Catholic by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Manuel and Irmgard Mitchell. Surviving are three nieces, Manuela Mitchell of AZ, Nicole (John) Sweeney, Cornelia Crepeau all of OK, and several cousins. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday Sept. 10, 2014 from 10 am to 12 noon at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 107 Hill St. in Smithfield, OH. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
