Ella Louise Benton, 83, of Toronto, OH, passed away Saturday April 9, 2016 in Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Ella was born Aug. 2, 1932 in Toronto, daughter of the late Charles and Olive (Palmer) Stevens.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Toronto First Church of the Nazarene and a 57 year member of the Toronto American Legion Post #86 Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Buster Benton in 1989, an infant son, David in 1960, three brothers and six sisters.

Surviving is her son, Kenneth (Mary) Stevens of Toronto; her four daughters, Mary Lou (Kenny) Emery of Toronto, Carol Canyock of Steubenville, Karen (Dale) Martin of Toronto and Becky (Mike) Chevalier of Ormond Beach, FL; her sister, Helen Grindle of Dover, OH; her three grandchildren, Jennifer (Brad) Moore, Jeremy Kelley and his fianc Jody Strautmann and her son Thomas Fordham and Christopher Canyock; her two great-grandchildren, Arya and Wesley Moore.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 11, 2016 from 4-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 701 Findley St. in Toronto. Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Eric Frey and Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating. Burial will follow in Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto.

American Legion Ladies Auxiliary service will be held at 7 pm Monday evening.
