Ernest E. Freeman, 77, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 in the TrinityEastMedicalCenter.Ernie was born October 3, 1929 in Smithfield, OH son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Harris) Freeman.Ernie was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army; he was also a retired employee of Wheeling-Pitt Steel where he worked as a stationary engineer.Ernie was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Wintersville; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus #4361 of Mingo, 4th Degree Father Bigelow Assembly; he was a State Officer and a Ceremonial Chairman for the 3rd Degree K of C. In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by his brother Frank and sisters, Margaret, Doris and Rebecca Freeman, Nancy Britt and Ruth Glenn.Ernie is survived by his wife Josephine (Wuchetich) of home whom he married on Feb. 26, 1957.Ernie and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past February.Ernie is also survived by his daughters, Sara "Mimi" Freeman of Streetsboro, OH and Jody (Dale) Shoemaker of Loveland, OH; one brother, Bill (Cissy) Freeman of Smithfield, OH; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Pamela Shoemaker of Loveland, OH.Visitation for Ernie will be held on Tuesday, June 26 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St., Smithfield, OH.There will be a Vigil Service for Ernie at 3:45 on Tuesday and a K of C Rosary Service at 8pm Tuesday evening.Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesay, June 27 at 10am at the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Wintersville with the Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating.There will be an hour of visitation in the back of the Church from 9am up until the time of the Mass at 10am on Wednesday.Entombment will follow in MountCalvaryCemetery in Steubenville.www.jefosterfh.com
