Etalio C. Spontaneo, 80, of Piney Fork, Ohio passed away Sunday Nov. 11, 2007 in East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry after a lengthy battle with cancer. Etalio was born on December 25, 1926 in Piney Fork, OH, son of the late Sabatino and Teresa (Anucci) Spontaneo. Etalio was a member of St. Adalbert Roman Catholic Church in Dillionvale; a member of the Piney Fork American Legion Post 735. He was a retired pipe-fitter for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; he was also a veteran of the US Army serving his country in WWII. Etalio loved his garden and his dogs Hershey and Lady.In addition to his parents, Etalio was preceded in death by his first wife, Angeline (Pastre) Spontaneo who passed in 1967; two brothers, Sam and Bill Spontaneo.Etalio is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Zifzal) Spontaneo of home; three daughters, Theresa Spontaneo of Grand Terrace, Cal.; Brenda and her husband Paul Boeriu; Leiann Spontaneo of Piney Fork; two sisters, Cora Muffi of Lincoln Park, Mich.; Caroline Veltri of Dover, OH. Etalio is also survived by one grandson, Nicholas Boeriu.Visitation for Etalio will be held on Wednesday, November 14 from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH. There will be a catholic wake service at 3:30 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services for Etalio will be held Thursday, November 15 at 10:00 am at St. Adalbert Roman Catholic Church in Dillionvale with the Msgr. John Kolesar officiating. There will be visitation in the back of the church on Thursday from 9:15am up until mass at 10am. Burial will follow in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield, where the Piney Fork American Legion Post 735 will provide full military graveside honors. www.jefosterfh.com
