Eugene Wiant, 83, of Toronto, Ohio passed away Sat. May 29, 2010 in Trinity West. Eugene was born Sept. 26, 1926 in Linn, W.Va., son of the late Rex and Dora Radcliff Wiant. Eugene retired from National and Weirton Steel Corp. after 41 years of service working as crane man in the Tin Mill. He was a member of the 25 year Club and was a former member of the Toronto Senior Citizens Club. Eugene served his country in W.W. II in the U.S. Army. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving is his wife of 60 yrs. Dixie Lawrence Wiant, whom he married on Oct. 14, 1949. Three sons, Vern (Darlene) Wiant of Hammondsville, Rick (Barb) Wiant and Marty (Althea)Wiant all of Toronto. Four brothers, Gary, Deleno, Jake and Russ Wiant all of W.Va. two sisters Lucille Shoulders of TN. and Mary Lawson of Romney, W.Va. 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren. Friends and family may call on Tuesday June 1st. from 4 pm. to 8 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto, Ohio.
