Eunice E. Christian, 85, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Sunday Feb. 22, 2015 in East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, OH.

Eunice was born May 6, 1929 in Smithfield, daughter of the late, Charles and Leota Smith Christian.

She was retired from the former Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville, working in the Housekeeping department and on the surgical floor.

Eunice was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Smithfield, where she was active in the Missionary Society, a member of the choir, worked with the youth choir and she served as a Trustee and a Stewardess.

In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by two sisters, Marguerite West and Elaine Doolin; one brother, Sheridan Christian; a special niece Darlene Cooper who passed away on Feb. 3, 2015.

Surviving are her three sisters, Julia Dokes of Phoenix, AZ, Carol Cooper of Bloomingdale, OH and Judith Cylar of Cleveland, OH; one brother, Vernon (Bonita) Christian of San Diego, CA. Eunice raised three nieces, Donna (Jay) Smith and Janice (Richard) Brown both of Smithfield and Linda (David) Assing of Killeen, TX and her great niece, Jayme Cooper of Columbus, OH.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Eunices life will be held on Sat. Feb. 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 107 Hill St. in Smithfield. Rev. Mary Ann Smith and Pastor Melody Essex will officiate. Her burial will be held at the convenience of her family in Northern Cemetery in Smithfield, OH.
