Eva Ann
Sipcich
May 26, 1960 – April 22, 2026
Eva Ann Sipcich, 65, passed away April 22, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born May 26, 1960, in Steubenville, Ohio, to Harvey and Helen Talamine (née Smith). Eve, as she was known to friends and family, lived life with intensity. She was an aunt by the time she was 7 years old, a wife at 17, and a mother at 18 to her beloved son, Mark Sipcich, Jr. At 19, Eve became a widow when her husband, Mark Sipcich, Sr. died in a tragic accident.
Eve loved her Harley Davidson softail and spent many hours winding through the hills of the Ohio Valley. But family was the center of Eve’s universe. She was a dedicated mother, wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and aunt. She was always eager to celebrate the good times, and she had the fortitude to nurse both her grandmother and mother through long-term illnesses with tenderness and compassion.
Despite hard times strewn across decades, Eve was able to find joy in things all around her. She married her husband, Robert Welday, in the mid-1990s. He loved and cherished her through life’s ups and downs, as well as copious amounts of driving instruction.
In 2019, Eve put family first again when she moved from the Ohio Valley to Gambier, Ohio to help raise her grandson and shining light, Samuel Sipcich. Gunna became the hub of the family, keeping everyone well-loved, well-organized, and well-fed. Her absence is palpable.
In addition to Rob, Mark, and Sam, Eve leaves a sister, Marilyn (Dave) Cortez of Reynoldsburg; nieces and nephew Michele (Marc) McTeague of Pickerington, Marcie Valerio of Bexley, Matt (Angel) Valerio of Hilliard, and Marisa (Matt) Glaviano of Westerville; many grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and great-grand-nephews; and a multitude of dear friends in the Ohio Valley and central Ohio.
The family will hold a celebration of life in the coming months.
