Evelyn M. Ray, 86, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, in the Carriage Inn of Steubenville.

Evelyn was born April 30, 1938, in Toronto, OH, daughter of the late Robert and Louise (Olbrysh) Augustinovicz.

She was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto and a 1956 graduate of Toronto High School. Evelyn worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at the LaBelle Nursing Home in Steubenville until her retirement.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth S. Ray, who passed away Oct. 20, 2015, and her siblings, Gus (Pauline), Henry (Evelyn), Edwin (Jane), Melie (Luke) Comer, Rita (Peppe) Quattrone, Charlie and Tim.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Lynn (Ron) Zamberlan of Steubenville, son, Scott R. Ray of Toronto, formerly of Charlotte, NC, granddaughter, Kenzie M. Zamberlan of Pittsburgh, PA, sister-in-law, Dianne Augustinovicz of Anderson, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Monday, Dec. 9 from 2 PM to 5 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will take place Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the St. Francis Catholic Church. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will officiate, and burial will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery.

Evelyn's family would like to thank the staff, and her special aides and nurses, at the Carriage House and the Carriage Inn, for their care over the last 3 years. A special thank you also to Dr. Maria Tranto.

Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Francis Catholic Church or the Toronto High School Alumni Association.
