Frank R. Kovarik, Jr. 73, of Rayland, OH, passed away Wednesday April 15, 2026, in the Trinity Medical Center West ER in Steubenville, OH.

Frank was born August 23, 1952, in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late Frank, Sr., better known as “Tin Can” and Clara Z., better known as “Babe” (Garcia) Kovarik. Frank was also preceded in death by his four-year-old brother, Manuel J. Kovarik.

Frank retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp in Mingo Jct., OH, and belonged to the Pine Valley Sportsman’s Club.

Surviving is his wife, Cheryl L. (Stidd) Kovarik; his son, Scott (Shannon) Kovarik of Pickerington, OH, and his daughter, Laura Kovarik of New Albany, OH; brother, Brad (Becky) Kovarik of Smithfield, OH, and his sister, Vickey Kovarik and her husband Jerry Hancock of Delaware, OH, and his five grandchildren.

In accordance with Frank’s wishes, cremation will take place and no public services will be held. Arrangements are in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH.
