Fred W. Bartels, 82, of Toronto, OH, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Fred was born July 31, 1937 in Toronto, son of the late Frederick and Eunice (Hudson) Bartels.

He was retired from the Weirton Steel Corp. where he worked in the Blast Furnace. Fred was a 1955 graduate of J.U. High School and a member of the Toronto American Legion and Toronto Eagles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Paul, Ernest, John and Harry and sister, Marjorie Stoneking.

Fred leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Carol (Skinner) Bartels whom he married July 4, 1957; his four daughters, Debbie (John) Leonhart of KY, Teresa (Paul) Prosser and Anita Keenan both of Toronto and Tina (Leo) Dubois of Columbus, OH; sisters-in-law, Shirley Bartels of Toronto and Carol Bartels of Akron; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, John, Sara, Paul, Kimberly, Hunter, Chelsea, Shane and Logan and three great-grandchildren, Myles, Isaac and Jewelyn.

A private family visitation and funeral service will be held Friday, July 17 at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Burial will follow in the Island Creek Cemetery in Toronto. www.jefosterfh.com
