Fred Silvestri, 85, of Rayland, OH, passed away Sat. Aug. 19, 2017 in the Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, OH.

Fred was born March 3, 1932 in Rosedale, OH, son of the late Louis and Mary (Barbarini) Silvestri.

He was retired from the former Ohio Ferro Alloy Co. Fred was also a self-employed farmer operating the Silvestri Pumpkin Farm located on St. Rt. 151 near Smithfield, OH.

He was a member of St. Adalbert Roman Catholic Church in Dillonvale, OH.

Fred is survived by his wife, Elda Mae (Ankrom) Silvestri, whom he married on Sept. 7, 1962; his four children, Jody Authier of Mingo Jct., OH, Shawn (Aurora) Silvestri of Germany, Regan (Aida) Silvestri of Cleveland, OH and Tonya (Solomon) NewTree of CA; his brother, Angelo (Eileen) Silvestri of Rayland and eight loving grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday Aug. 22, 2017 from 5 - 7 pm and again on Wednesday from 3 - 7 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield. Freds Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held Thursday at 10 am at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale. Msgr. John Kolesar will celebrate and burial will follow in New Alexandria Cemetery in New Alexandria, OH.

There will be additional visitation Thursday morning at the church from 9:15 am til time of the Mass. A Vigil Service will be held Wednesday at 4 pm at the funeral home.
