Gary Lee Allen, 66, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 in Pittsburgh, PA following a lengthy illness.
Gary was born May 8, 1950 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Ray Red Allen and Naomi (Foster) Allen.
He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Tootsie (Beswick) Allen on Aug. 27, 1971. She sadly passed away on July 3, 2002. Gary was also preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, father-in-law and brother-in-law.
Gary is survived by his two children, daughter, Jennifer Allen and fianc Brandon Orris of Toronto, OH and son, Tim Allen and wife Jenny of Wintersville; his three grandchildren, Jacob Allen of Toronto and Nathan and Hunter Allen of Wintersville; his two brothers, Danny (Kristy) Allen of TX and David (Keri) Allen of Toronto; two sisters, Sherry (Doug) Pinkerton and Bonnie Valentine (Joe Knight) both of Toronto; two brothers-in-law, Brad (Becky) Beswick and Ben (Tammy) Beswick and one sister-in-law, Barb (Greg) Scott all of Toronto; his beloved mother-in-law, Nancy (McIlvain) Beswick of Cadiz, OH. He was also fondly loved by his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our dad was an extremely hard worker and a loving provider for his family. While growing up he helped his dad by selling Christmas Trees and painting houses in Toronto and he built our family home on Church Rd.
Gary was a 1968 graduate of Toronto High School and he retired from Ohio Edison Sammis Plant in 2002 with 30 years of service. He will be truly missed.
Visitation for Gary will be held on Friday, Sept. 16 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery.
