Geraldine Mecannic, 89, a longtime resident of Toronto, OH, entered eternal rest on October 19, 2025.

She was born in Middlebourne, WV to Isaac and Iva Dennis Groves. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Mecannic, her son, Harold Michael Mecannic, and her four siblings, Eugene Groves, William Groves, Lucille Groves Haught and Debra Groves Salsberry.

Geraldine was a tiny, feisty little lady. She loved to travel and was fortunate enough to visit many states and foreign countries as a military wife. She enjoyed camping and sightseeing with her sister Lucille and attending church and shopping with her little sister Debbie.

She also loved country music and volunteered at Country Friends for many years along with her brother Bill and his wife Lou. In her 60's she took up archery and hunting and could be seen at local bow shoots with son-in-law Todd.

Geraldine leaves behind her daughter, Lisa (Todd) Crawford of Mingo Jct., OH, and four grandchildren, Robert Mecannic and Nick Mecannic of Florida, Tiffany (Tony) Sappington of Minnesota and Tyler (Lisa) Crawford of West Virginia. They all have many wonderful memories of their Gram. Her great-grandchildren include, Robert, Mason, Elizabeth and Lars Mecannic, all of Florida. She also had loving nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her.

Her family sends a special thank you to the nurses, aides and staff at Gables Care Center and Stacey of Valley Hospice for their wonderful care.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, October 25 from 11 am to 1 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Services for Geraldine will follow at 1 pm with Rev. Kevin Rinkes.
