Gertrude D. Trudy Keels, 80, of Wintersville, OH, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022 in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH after a long battle with COPD.

Trudy was born August 9, 1941, daughter of the late David and Gertrude (Kelso) Doughty.

She grew up locally and graduated from Carrollton High School in 1959. Trudy worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for several different companies in TN, VA, TX, NH, and OH. She was an eternal optimist who loved to do needlepoint and crafts. Trudy loved the state of Texas and treated her pets as family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Naomi Hardesty, Ginger Lucas, and Frances Pritts Krnich, and brothers, David and John Doughty.

Trudy is survived by her son, Bruce (Tina) Keels of Texas; sister, Shirley Cline of Oregon; nephews, Don (Barbara) Pritts of Toronto, OH and Alan (Debbie) Pritts of Weirton, WV; nieces, Cathy Baumgart of Idaho, and Janette Macedo and Judy Villabos of California. She also leaves behind her good friends, Alice Beckford and Twila LeBeau, and her beloved cat, Tinker.

A Memorial Service has been planned for May 7, 2022, at 11 am at the Riverview United Methodist Church in Toronto. Pastor Frank Rogers will officiate.
