Gregory B. Barna, 73, much loved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather of Toronto, Ohio passed away Friday July 11, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center West Emergency Room.Greg was born May 31, 1935 in Steubenville, son of the late Basil and Helen Czaruk Barna. Greg was a retired Revenue Officer for the I.R.S., was a very active member of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church in Steubenville, where he was President of the Parish Council and was the Church Treasure. Greg also served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Carol Barna and his brother-in-law Daniel Maydak.Greg is survived by his wife Mildred 'Millie' Maydak Barna, whom he married on Oct. 28, 1961, his daughter Amy A. (Don) Mossor of Steubenville, three Grandchildren Kirsten (Adam) Sutherin of Stratton, Robert Hannen of Toronto, Alexandra Barna of Steubenville, one Great-Granddaughter Alayna Sutherin of Stratton. Two brothers Theodore Barna of Longmont, CO., Basil (Susie) Barna of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Two sisters Nancy (Bob) Rohal of Weirton and Patricia (Jim) Hill of Fla. Brother-in-law Cornell Maydak of Union, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call at the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, located on N. 10th St. in Steubenville on Monday from 6 pm. to 8 pm. and on Tuesday from 2 -4 pm. and 7- 9 pm. On Wednesday morning Visitation will take place again from 10:00 am. til time of Greg's Funeral Service at 11:00 am. The Very Rev. Father John J. Voytilla will be the Celebrant and burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Steubenville.Trisagion Service will be held at 4:00 pm. Tuesday.
