Gregory John Ohalek, 68, of Spring Hill, FL, formerly of Toronto, OH, passed away February 5, 2023, at his home.

Greg was born August 30, 1954, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Stanley and Maryann (Jablonski) Ohalek.

Greg worked for 15 years at the First Energy Sammis Plant in Stratton, OH, before leaving to go into residential home construction and remodeling. He had recently retired and relocated to Florida.

He was a 1972 graduate of Toronto High School and a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. Greg loved to golf, and he was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan.

He leaves behind two children, Steven (Jen) Ohalek of Steubenville, and Erika (Shawn) Sloane of Folsom, CA; three grandchildren; brother, David (Beth) Ohalek, and sister, Tammi (John) Romey of Toronto, and brother, Derek (Amy) Ohalek of Youngstown, OH; his dog Bubba, and several nieces and nephews and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11 am at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Toronto. Gregs family will gather in the rear of the church to greet friends from 10 to 11 am. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will officiate, and inurnment will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
