Harold T. Vandruff, Sr., 73, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH.Harold was born May 3, 1938 in Reader, WV, son of the late Albert and Bertha (Swager) Vandruff.Harold was retired from the Belots Corp. in Tiltonsville, OH, where he worked for many years as a truck driver. Harold was a member of the former Horseshoe Club in Smithfield, OH. He also served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy.In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by an infant brother, his sister Virginia Bell and his grandson Harold T. Vandruff III.Surviving are his wife, Viola M. (Prevost) Vandruff of Smithfield, OH; son James (Linda) Vandruff of Vista, CA, daughter Paula Green of Dayton, OH, son Harold T. Vandruff, Jr. and son Ira A. Vandruff both of Smithfield, OH. Harold is also survived by his grandsons James Vandruff of Bakersfield, CA and Josh Richardson of Richmond, OH and granddaughter Annette Vandruff of Smithfield, OH, one great-granddaughter, brother John Vandruff of Phoenix, AZ, sisters Ernestine Wiley of Brilliant, OH and Doris Beard of East Liverpool, OH; several nieces and nephews.Per Harold's wishes there will be no visitation and his burial will held at the convenience of his family.
