Harry Edward Ed Gotschall, 53, of Salineville, OH, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

Ed was born August 22, 1969, in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Harry and Florence (Smith) Gotschall. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Candy Azbell.

Ed was currently working for the Southern Local School District as a bus mechanic and driver. He was also working for TEMS Joint Ambulance District in Toronto and North Star Critical Care in E. Liverpool as an EMT.

Ed worked for the Village of Stratton for 29 years. He was a former member of the Stratton Vol. Fire Dept. where he was the Chief for over 25 years. Ed was also a former EMT for Saline Twp.

He leaves behind his wife, Dawn (Mummert) Gotschall; three sons, Caleb Gotschall of Toronto, Brayden and Landon of the home; two daughters, Emerson Gotschall of home, and Alexiz Taylor of Elgin, TX; one sister, Theresa (Ray) Porter of Dennison, OH; four grandchildren, Brantley, Heather, and Kyle Gotschall and McKenna Taylor and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Ed will be held on Sunday, July 2 from 12 noon to 4 PM at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A Firemans Funeral with a Chaplain will follow at 4 PM. A funeral procession with emergency vehicles and guests will follow from the funeral home through Toronto and the Village of Stratton where it will end. Eds burial will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
