Harry E. Sham Schaming, 84, of Toronto, OH, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.
Harry was born Sept. 15, 1939 in Toronto, son of the late, Nicholas and Alvada (Keeder) Schaming.
Sham was hired at Timet in Toronto in March of 1960 and retired July 1, 2003 with 43 years of service. He was a graduate of Toronto High School, Christian by faith, and he loved Toronto Red Knight Football and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rosalind Rose (Dunlevy) Schaming who passed in Oct. of 2010; sisters, Vera Rudder and Beulah Stimpert; brother, Robert Marrow, who died in the Korean War, and an infant brother, Ronald Schaming.
Sham leaves behind his son, Chris & Susan Schaming of Toronto; four grandchildren who called him Pap, Nathan Schaming of Indianapolis, IN, Jeanine Schaming of Kettering, OH, Zach Schaming of Toronto, and Becca Schaming and fianc Doug Miller of Steubenville; great granddaughter, Maddy Hawkins; brother-in-law, Tim & Helen Dunlevy of Wellsville, OH; two nephews, Rich (Virginia) Stimpert and Bill Rudder, and a niece, Patty Reed.
Visitation for Harry will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 11 am to 12 noon at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A private funeral service will follow. Rev. Bobbyjon Bauman, Director of the Sycamore Youth Center, will officiate, and burial will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
Harrys family would like to thank the staff of Valley Hospice for the exceptional care they provided and making them feel like family. Memorial donations may be directed to Valley Hospice.
