Helen R. Lucas, 87, of Stratton, OH, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 in the Laurels of Steubenville, OH.Helen was born October 15, 1925 in Toronto, OH, daughter of the late Michael and Anna Zamborsky Bodnar.Helen was a member of the Empire United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Society of the Church; she also worked during WWII as a tack welder on warships in Boston Harbor.In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, John Lucas who passed in 1999; two brothers, John and George Bodnar; three sisters, Dorothy Brettell, Theresa Byers and Catherine McConnell.Helen is survived by her son, Michael (Janice) Lucas of Columbus, OH; her brother Michael (Shirley) Bodnar of Toronto, OH; her four sisters, Eleanor Garren of Louisville, OH, Marge Byers of Stratton, OH, Monica (Roger) Lindamood of Urichsville, OH, and Mary Ann (Jim) Allen of Irondale, OH. Visitation for Helen will be held on Wednesday, March 13 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. Al Talkington officiating. Burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery in Toronto, OH. Memorial donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Empire United Methodist Church PO Box 147 Empire, OH 43926. Helen's family would like to thank Dr. Lopez, The Laurels staff and Rev.
