Helena M. "Eileen" Lamantia, 87, of Toronto, Ohio passed away Thursday July 9, 2009 in the Gables Care Center in Hopedale. Eileen was born Feb. 6, 1922 in Ballymena, Ireland, daughter of the late Patrick Joseph and Helena Mary Leonard McLaughlin. Eileen was a Registered Nurse, working formerly at the former Gill Memorial Hospital and the former Forrester's Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Francis R.C. Church and the C.W.C. of the church.In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years John T. Lamantia Sr., who passed away on Aug. 6, 2007,her great-grandson Matthew T. Cattrell, her brothers and sisters, George, Mairead, Sean, Dan, Seamus, Lily, Cornelius, Jo McLaughlin, Paddy Clibbery, and Sally Cadegan. Surviving are her children, son Pat and his wife Patty Lamantia, son James and his wife Pattie Lamantia, son John T. and his wife Judy Lamantia Jr., all of Toronto and daughters Ann B. Lamantia of Columbus and Maureen and husband Terry Cattrell of Toronto. Three grandsons, Ryan, Todd, and Zachary all of Toronto, seven granddaughters, Angie, Julianna, Annaliesse, Breann all of Toronto, Jennifer and Kelly of Columbus and Jessica of Maryland. Great-Grandchildren, Madeleine, Bryan, Jake, Isabelle, Andrew, Jackson, Dryden, and Addison. Her brothers and sisters, Eamon (Aine) McLaughlin of Louisiana, Patrick ( Veronica ) McLaughlin, Una McLaughlin, Tom (Muriel ) McLaughlin all of Northern Ireland. Friends and family may call on Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8 pm., at the J. E. Foster Funeral Homes, Inc., 701 Findley St. Toronto; on Monday visitation will take place at St. Francis Church from 9:15 am. til Eileen's Funeral Liturgy with Mass which is at 10:00 am. Father Thomas Vennitti will celebrate her Mass and burial will follow in Toronto Union Cemetery. Vigil Service will be Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
