Obituary
Homer L. Phillips, 67, of Rayland, OH, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 in the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, OH.
Homer was born April 29, 1949 in New Martinsville, WV, son of the late Jack N. Phillips and Doris J. (Hinerman) Phillips who survives.
He was retired from Weirton-Steel Corp. where he worked as a millwright and in the blast furnace.
Homer also was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country in the Vietnam War earning a Bronze Star.
In addition to his father, Homer was preceded in death by his sister, Debra Jean Phillips.
Homer leaves behind his mother, Doris; his wife Milene M. (Brown) Phillips whom he married in 1989; his four daughters, Alice (Ben) Hawkins of Irondale, OH, Joy Phillips of St. Clairsville, OH, Ashley Phillips of Rayland and Carrie Wetherell of Steubenville, OH; two brothers, Mike (Kaye) Phillips of Mingo Jct., OH and Steve Phillips of East Springfield, OH; ten grandchildren, Harley, Cody, Makayla, Chelsea, Wiley, Carol, Debra, Mamie, Wiley and Miranda.
Homers wishes were to be cremated with no services observed. He is in the care of the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield, OH.
