Irene S. Miller, 98, of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, in the Valley Hospice Care Center in Steubenville, OH.

Irene was born May 19, 1925, in E. Liverpool, OH, daughter of the late George and Mary (Popovich) Kalatta.

She retired from Sears where she worked as a clerk for 26 years. Irene was a member of St. Francis Roman Catholic Church in Toronto, the Toronto Senior Citizens, and the Sears Retiree Breakfast Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Miller, daughter, Cheryl DeVere, three sisters, Mary Stoecklien, Kathryn Pittenger, and Margaret Kalatta, and one brother, George Kalatta.

Irene leaves behind two sons, George (Sue) Miller of Weirton, WV, and Gary (Terry) Miller of Florida; seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Irene will be held Friday, August 25, from 10 am to 11 am followed by her funeral service at 11 am at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. Fr. Thomas Vennitti will officiate, and burial will follow in the Toronto Union Cemetery.
