Irene Stitt 89 of Smithfield, Ohio passed away Sunday Dec. 12, 2004 in Hartland Nursing Home in Lancing , Ohio. Irene was born Jan. 6, 1915 in Bradley , Ohio daughter of the late George and Amalia Jakabik Mehall. She was a retired employee of the Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing, working for 21 years in the Housekeeping Dept. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Steubenville. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her Husband John in 1962, her Son, Harvey in 1968, Two Brothers; George and Joe Mehall. Surviving are; Her Son, Harold and his wife Susan of Golden, CO., Three Grandchildren; Kylie, Mara and Ian Stitt all of Golden. Friends and Family may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm. at the J. E. Foster Funeral Home 107 Hill St. in Smithfield. Friends and Family may call from Noon til 12:45 pm. on Thursday at St. Mark Lutheran Church on Lovers Lane in Steubenville. Services will begin at 1:00 pm. with Rev. Robert Matej officiating and Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville.
