Isabelle Dokes Toney, age 85 of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Trinity West Medical Center. She was born in Uhrichsville, Ohio, daughter of the late Presiding Elder Fred Dokes Sr. and Pauline (Pullie) Dokes. Also, preceding her in death were her husband, Gilbert Toney, Jr, three brothers, Norman Dokes, Ernest Dokes, Fred Dokes and a daughter, Ruth Dalton and a son Jeffrey Toney. She was a faithful member of St. Paul AME Church, Smithfiled, Ohio serving for many years until her illness. Surviving are her three daughters Betty Toney of Dayton, Ohio, Jacque (Robert) Booker of Marietta, GA, Paula (Wayne) Brooks, Forth Worth, TX, Lisa Mason of Steubenville; one son Michael (Jewette) Toney of Wintersville, Ohio; one sister Virginia Irving of Edmond, Oklahoma; five granddaughters, four grandsons, seven great-grand children; three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Following Mrs. Toney's wishes she was cremated. She asked that there be no viewing or services. Please remember her in your thoughts and prayers at this time.
