James E. "Buddy" Burgess, Jr., 76, of Stratton, OH, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at his home.Jim was born Sept. 24, 1937 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Edward J. Burgess and Alberta May LaRue.In Jim's younger years he worked as a truck driver hauling steel and then went on to work for himself and do various home remodeling projects for people. Jim also was a Veteran of the US Navy having served his country during the Korean War Conflict.In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Burgess and his son, James E. Burgess III.Jim leaves behind his wife, Ellen H. Morelli Burgess of home whom he married on March 4, 1959; his daughter Susan L. (Edward) Aikmen of Indiana, son Cory A. (Candi) Burgess of Michigan City, IN and his son Michael A. (Amanda) Burgess of Bradenton, FL. Jim also is survived by eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.Funeral services and burial for Jim will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
